The End of Exams
Having finished my last exam last night, I now have time to relax. I was on Facebook, and thought it was funny how everyone’s statuses are changing. Not that I didn’t care that you had an exam on Tuesday that you were soooo not ready for, or that you have 1 down 2 to go. Well, actually I really didn’t. The thing about exams is that although everyone is suffering through them at the same time, no one wants to hear about anyone else’s. Especially when you are in music and complaining about your introductory keyboarding exam, or other does-this-even-count-as-a-course courses. They really can’t be compared across different faculties.
The one thing everyone seems to have in common, though, is that as soon as exams are done they all seem to revert back to being a kid or teenager. Disney marathon? Yes please! No I haven’t watched Malcolm in the Middle in years! Or more recently, I could use 8 consecutive hours of xbox and a bag of cheetos. Because I’ve earned it.
But hey, no matter what faculty you’re in, how many exams you had, or how much effort you actually put into your classes, you are done something. A small step towards…next semester’s exams. So enjoy it while it lasts, because in a couple of weeks you will be back to the miserable life of a university student.
And don’t let this time of year stress you out. Even if you blow it, in the grand scheme of life, that one exam will be just a tiny little speck. In fact most of the stuff you are doing right now will be. So enjoy some time off. Forget that diet for a couple of days. Sleep till noon. Watch a movie marathon.
Do what makes you happy. If you do that, the rest will just fall into place.
